Tick on brake pedal
I hear a tick everytime I push on the brake pedal.
I'm 90 percent sure its probably the spring stretching but it's getting D$%M annoying.
Anyone sure what it might be or had it happen to them.
I use to get it on the clutch pedal but it seems to be gone

I had this same problem the other day... turns out it was my floor mats. The stupid thing was catching the clutch just enough to drive me insane. The stupid kid that vacuumed out my car the other day didn't hook them back in. I know it sounds stupid, but it could be the solution.
thanks midge but its not that.
it happens when I barely tap on the brake(in the beggining), once i fully depress it, its gone
it feels like when you pull a spring it has a little play in the beggining, then once it stretches theres no more noise
thanks
anyone?

thanks, do you know where it is.
I looked under there and could only find the sring that holds the brake pedal in place.
It is at the beggining when the noise occurs

If it was normal how come most dont do that noise.
Sometimes I wonder if the car blows up at the dealer if they would say "thats normal, it just needs a slight buffing to get those burn stains off"
or if they test drive the car and crash it "well you shouldnt have brought the car in, it was running normal"

Well, I'm pretty sure that it is normal, it is just the sound that the solenoid makes when activating. I believe to find it, look up at the "elbow" of the brake pedal, and it is by there, its been a while since I crawled under there.
Good Luck

its a many and between my wife myself and my brother we have or have had 4 xb's
traded in 2 for 06's
anyways none of them made or make that noise
it does sound as if it is a switch clicking when I lightly press on the brake in the very beggining of travel
