Default voltage stabalizers ?

hey guys, Ive been looking around a lot on SL and recently ran into the thread about the DIY voltage stabilizer. now i would have loved to try this but i need pics as references and the pics no longer work so i just skip that for now. anyways i was reading a lot of peoples comments on there both negative and positive. to me the idea behind a voltage stabilizer seems sound and logical due to the fact that i have a brief history of computer maint. and audio skills so i kinda get it. what i want to know is if anybody is actually using a voltage stabilizer in there xA's and if they have actually seen a difference. if so was it bought or made?
