Default what exhaust diameter???

hi, im going to put a resonator back custom exhaust and want to know if there will be a difference between 2" and 2 1/4". im going to use the magnaflow muffler #14818 if that matter.

The best idea would be to match the pipe size to the inlet diameter of the muffler.

the inlet is 2 1/4".


is there any difference in the sound??? the 2 1/4 will be louder than the 2"???

With the little HP these motors have, I wouldn't run 2 1/4. I'd go 2" all the way. The shop can make the 2 1/4 muffler fit 2" pipe without a problem.

You will feel a slight loss in low end even with 2" pipe, but feel a bit more pep around 3500-4000rpms.

yeah def go with 2.0 unless u plan forced induction. then i'd go 2.25 for supercharger and 2.5 for turbo.

I just put 2" straight and didn't like it.....you lose a lot of torque...... and is too loud....

I had to put a small silencer in the middle...now it sounds great and torque is back......the car runs better than ever......

I remember reading somewhere that the Header collector is 2.5, not sure if its true tho

I went 2.25 inch from and including the resonator back. I don't have a 14 inch glasspack for a resonator so I don't have the interior droning or Honduh sounding exhaust. It works great for me and I'm happy w/ it. But that's just me and I'm no expert. I have a SR and header also.

glasspacks dont make honduh sound their motors do that all by themselves. lol.
