Default xB ECU swap?

I know I've seen some odds and ends here and there along the forums I've browsed bout people swapping out the ECU for better performance on their xB.

Anyone done this yet? Any good results? Waste of time?? Why do you want to swap it out anyways?

if you swap in the Echo ECU you will lose TCS & VSC & maybe some other things might not work out right.

yea, but, if you swap the ecu, will there be any gains, or in other words.....are there any known advantages?

From what ive read, if I understood it correctly, is if you swap the xB ecu with an echo ecu you wont gain any performance, but you will not have to deal with a learning ecu like what we have. This makes it easier to add boost and do other things, because the ecu will not reset itself trying to learn how you drive. But as stated before you will lose certain features that we have and the echo does not. Thats just my opinion on the subject, im sure theres a few members who can answer to a T the question, hopefully they will chime in on the subject.

The Echo ECU is a 16bit ECU ... The xB/xA ECU is a 64bit... The Echo ECU has more of a tuner friendly programming with the xB/xA is one of the harder fuzzy logic in the program which will screw up your tuning especially in the fuel department.

While you can just go straight with a PFC instead of a factory Echo ECU. Now you don't even need to cover your factory wiring harness. You can just fab up a male and female pig tail. So when it comes time to smog you can un-plug the pig tail and re-plug in your factory xB ECU.

But this stand-alone computer is worth $1000, maybe since the ECU on the echo is 16bit we might be able to use the Apexi S-AFC II. I dont have an echo nor do i know naybody that has tried this but since i see you are an echo driver, let me know. I would like to do this swap, to be able to tune my fuel map a little better when i decide to open my block and slap on some pistons and stuff. Do you think the S-AFC II will work on the echo ECU?

I've had the s-afcII they work but not that great ... The PFC is only $850.00 dollars with the commander. But, if I'm correct Phoenix Power has a pig tail for the echo and its a direct bolt on ...

So i guess the real question is, will it work? Can i swap the echo ECU into my xA and be able to tune it with the Power FC?? If i can do this that i might consider going forced induction.
