You guys want an upgraded Intake Manifold & Throttle bod
Blown, when you upgraded you your 280, did you only go 5mm? Or was it more? I know when I upgraded my RB, I went up 20mm. Now that's a change. I guess I want to know if the 5mm is going to add enough power to be worth anything. If you use the same vehicle, with a stock, and then an bigger tb run, on the same dyno in the same day, you will be able to tell if it increased hp. +/- 1-2 hp correction. But it would show none the less. Isn't that what magazines do when the do Tech installs. They just don't slap it on and say "there ya go."
A good company that is making performance parts will R&D their product. That's what Weapon R is doing with their intake manifold, and what they do with their CAI's. Power Enterprise is in the process of R&D on the new supercharger kit for the xB. If OBX wants us to believe they make a fine product, they will R&D it, and display their results somewhere, in some way. If I was making any of this stuff, I would do it. It's good marketing practice.

Weapon R is so far off on their numbers... not even gonna go there. How about i get it and ill tell u how it does. You can't trust what all companies post. Real world #'s are what counts imo.
LastLookCustoms should sposer me with a throttle body and ill post up some results!

" Real world #'s are what counts " And that's the bottom line.
Blown, If you calculate 9% it should be more, with the bell & the back of the butterfly.... So....
Too bad it's going to be winter real quick.....

So Im assuming that there is a decent interest in intake manifolds then...
What would everyone want to pay for them? I can start developing them if there is interest. So lets all brainstorm what one would expect to pay and the gains that would be expected....
So lets get some ideas and I will figure out wether it is feasible for me to start.

The OBX one isn't worth it IMO. That's only 1/8 inch difference in diameter. And only a 35.5 cubic CM difference in volume. May yeild about 1 hp. I can do that by boring my stock TB that far. For far less than $250.

We are not giving anybody the run around. We are in the R&D process right now. I cant let any info out at this time.

$500 or less

Thats more along the lines of what I was thinking. If we can get a few people on board that would be interested for that price, I will invest the time in putting a few together for R&D.

the same with the skunk2 manifold, even a twin ITB set up was 1200 (for a civic), everytime we get a price for parts like this for the box its outragous, I thought maybe this would be our break on a real part that was affordable, if 200 isn't even close however.. I don't know how many will sell. Unless some serious gains could be proved.. which noone has. I know F/I, high compression, and juiced engines will make good power with it, but for the average bolt on's guy.. ?? Once the design and set up are done, I mean what would manufacturing costs per unit? Would u rather make 100 bucks each on a few hundred or 400 each on 10? i could be very wrong with all of this and I apologize if I am, but I think it could be done in the 200-350 range, with all sides happy. I'd say either way start with one, get some fine tuning and hp/tq numbers down, and that will be the selling point (as well as quality and finish).
Im interested both in you TB and the Intake manifold. Price per hp will make my decision. But as with anything else you have to pay to play. And for the right amount of hp I think $500 is reasonable. And I know that TB is well worth over $250, so ou can count me in on buying that when and if the manifold comes out.
That ebay manifold for the civic is a nice piece. Once I get the r&d down and the jigs made and everything, the price would probably be lower than $500 if the demand was there. But if I am only doing a few of them, I would have to get close to $500 a piece.
Werent the WeaponR ones going to be around $800 or something?

Right now I just have to mock everything up, figure out runner length, diameter and tank size... Then its just a matter of welding them up. The first few arent going to be polished or anything. They will just be for R&D. I will have a few different people try them out with different setups and dyno them and we can go from there...

as far as 800, not it (points at self)

If so, I'm willing to pay 500. Pending Dyno results.
