Default Daily Driven Automatic XB....tc or sc.....datz da question..

i own a 06 bsp box...i have had it for about 9mthz now....itz time to get this thing moving....( better then stock that is )..this is my everyday car...i take this thing every where and i love it....i juz wish that it would have more power and move faster on the highway especaily when passing people....now i wanna put either a sc or a tc on the car but i dont want da engine to get messed or anything ( im a noob as u can tell )...im not gonna be racing da car or anything like dat....i juz want something that is reliable power and wont give me a headache.....which way would be best for my situation guyz, should i go w/ the sc or the tc?

Well I always preach Turbo's to people, cause nothing beats the feel of a TC .. But in this situation, with what you have said above and what you want to use it for the SC may be best for you.. Proably the Greddy SC, it is made for an Auto.. only issue is if they have it ready for the 06's yet..But it will give you roughly around 35 extra whp.. which for the box is gonna feel like alot... Like I said I love turbos and would say go get a ZPI turbo setup but the SC is more up your alley.

thanx for the quick reply......i think that i will juz end up w/ the s/c because i have been told that itz no headache and it would be the best way to go for me.....now i called greddy and it sounded like i was speaking to someone who juz got the job last week...lol.....and they told me that any greddy dealer can make it work for my box but that sounded pretty sketchy to me......

Dough Boy if you have to go SC give shawn at NOPI.com a call about 2 months ago they had their Greddy SC for a price of $2200.00 or so. But like Billy says turbo would be the way to go because you're not limited and can always make more power with slight changes, If you do decide to go turbo ZPI is the only way to go.

if i do end up going w/ the turbo it will be the zpi because thatz turbo is the buzz of the scion world.... .....but i know people that have turboz in their cars like my friend who has an sti and my other friend w/ a srt-4 and they dont have problemz and they drive them everyday and i trully want to feel the power ( the most that i can get for this car ) so i might juz end up going w/ that turbo.....i will make up my mind by x-mas.....

which ever way you got it's got to be a win win situation in horsepower gain, just 1 a little more than the other. Good luck with your decision

Not saying anything bad about any of the aftermarket turbos (or superchargers) for the xB, but there is a huge difference between those and an STI or SRT-4. The engines in those cars are designed and engineered for boost from the get go. They have hundreds of thousands, if not millions of dollars invested into the engineering end development of those motors. Everything about them is designed to handle boost.

The motor in our car is not. Does that mean it can't handle boost? No. Does it mean that if you throw forced induction on our cars they are going to grenade on us? No. Does it mean you may very well shorten your engines life span? Yes. Can an xB be boosted safely and last for hundreds of thousands of miles? In my opinion, yes.

Mike, go with the Greddy supercharger, its gonna be a lot easier for you to keep up with the maintanence and your wifes gonna kill you if you blow it up

Hass Turbo for the 3? Those things are pretty spendy!

Or is Mazda coming out with their own turbo kit? I guess it would be pretty easy to do considering they have the same motor turbocharged in the Mazdaspeed 3.
