Intake spacer?
hey guys. First off I just wanted to say thanks to WeeMan and mikochu for their threads on installing an intake and the ECU reset. Although my friend knows much more about cars than I do, it made it a little easier so we knew what we were doing.
Anywho, I just installed my intake, runs great, sounds great (now I need a new exhaust)... But the guy who sold it to me forgot to give me a clamp and a spacer. The clamp I got at napa, but we didnt find a spacer.
We used one spacer for the bottom one next to the battery, but we still need one for the top to attach the bracket on the battery. We looked at it while it was running and gave it some gas and it doesnt move alot, but I dont want to risk it, especially bumps, it seems that it would hit the battery if I went over some big bumps.
So I ask 2 things. 1) Can anyone give me a spacer in northern california? 2.) Can anyone suggest anything to substitute the spacer but still serve the same purpose and make it stable? I know I could make something but I dont know out of what... Thanks for any input!

Yeah we were going to do that the other night but it was closed early (sunday). Im probably gonna head over there again and try and find something, I was just wondering if someone had a suggestion, maybe something they've done.
Well, I ended up fabricating something and it worked well actually.
What I did was cut the stock hose (since I replaced it with the one the intake came with) and I put it nice and snug where the spacer should've been. Its surprisingly stable but for extra security I wrapped electrical tape around the hose piece and the part of the intake where it is supposed to connect. It was probably like an inch and a half to 2 inches... I dont see how the other spacer would've fit there but hey whatever it works.

yeah, I tried the hardware store and couldn't find what I wanted. Originally, I had stacked a bunch of washers up to fit in there and that didn't work very well (lot's of rattling and moving). A guy at a local shop gave me a spacer and it has helped a lot but I still need one more to go down closer to the air filter because I'm rattling when reversing.
Yeah thats not good. Mine wasn't rattling but it was sort of resting on the side of the battery so it made me nervous especially the highways in norcal are pretty rough. The hose seemed to work fine making it more stable. Along with some handy dandy electrical tape.
