xA Performance
So i'm really liking the xA for a tight nimble commuter, i really want it to have more pep and i'm not really seeing too much as far as the turbocharger route, and only a couple supercharger manufacturers, but are there any folks on here who have induced their xA? I see that Magnaflow has come out with the 2.25" Catback, and there are some intakes available, but i need my 20s to fly ;)
I own a turbocharged 2.4L Eclipse www.4g64.com and the family cruiser is a PT which will be turbocharged as soon as possible... once you boost, you never go back, but i want to move forward with a scion. Let me know!

i would be happy to ;) what parts of the engine bay and hood do i need to chop?
seriously though, anyone have any PICS of the SC install anywhere? heck i'd put a freakin blower scoop on the hood if i had to

^^^^^go tot he forced induction forums and you will see everything from the blitz S/C to the greddy S/C, from homemade turbo kits to greddy turbo kit. There is everything there i just wouldnt recomened forced induction for our xA, unless you plan on swapping the whole computer out.
Actually i remember posting this in the forced induction forum... i guess it was moved? =/ anyhow, it's not as easy as go here and read, because i have. I've been pouring over the pages and i've only seen xB and tC shots, i haven't SEEN an xAs done up.
I replaced my ECU in my eclipse and will do so with the PT, as well as all of the under the hood turbocharger parts, wiring etc. I'm ready to get my hands really dirty into this project

that's what i thought i was seeing... if emanage is how it is being controlled i'd rather go turbo baby! much more efficient in my opinion. I can do much more with a turbo than an s/c anyday ;) frount mount intercooler, make some nice piping, the fun part is of course tuning and timing, etc. But it could probably handle ~10psi or so. Picking the right sized turbo, not the larger external wastegate'd setups or the massive t3/t4 setups... something nice and nimble, but not too small... something that could boost pre-3000 rpms ;)
I'm wondering if anyone else made or pieced together a kit, here's what TurboKits.Com has to offer:

^^^^^ The TSI turbo kit isnt a good one. I couldnt say anything from personal expereince because ive read SO many BAD things from the kit and from turbo charging our xA/xB's that im not even going to bother. The problem mainly lies in the computer and the size of our engine (tiny... lots of money, no real HP increase).
But on the other side, why not? Its fun, entertaining, and its a really FUN hobby. If your doing fro the fun of it and not really worried about quarter mile times, then do it. Especially if its not your daily driver, because you just enerv know when it will deside to break down, if it does. I havent turbo charged or gone real crazy with my xA because its my daily driver and the suspension is bad enough, to also have to pay attention to the engine.... forget that! I have school and work i cant be on foot.
Well man just read, and i know everything is on the xB, but our cars are identical so its the SAME thing. Read read read thats the only way you will learn what good and whats bad. Type TSI turbo kit int he search button and see what happens.

i dont know if i said it sucks, for any particular thing, but as far as suspension goes this car can be made into a little track monster. I have
1.) Koni adjustables
2.) DC sports tower brace
3.) Tein S-techs
4.) Progress rear sway bar
5.) OTG spacer shims
6.) GT Spec front chassis brace
7.) TRD rear frame brace
Thats about it, all im missing is:
1.) Cusco camber plates
2.) Front sway bar (maybe)
3.) Rims
Even on stock tires this car is a menace, on the tight track that i race, i give mini's and BMW's a hard time because its a short track with barely any straight roads so short wheel base = VICTORY!!!! This car is great, but Koni's (on the softest setting) are a little bit harsh, i can deal with that, but on the track you tighten them up and its INCREDIBLE, on STOCK tires. I would definately recommend swapping out the suspension on your xA, the stock suspension is bouncy and uncomfortable. I would have gone with tein coilovers but i live in Puerto Rico and there are WAY to many potholes to be putting such hard suspension in my car, its a daily driver and that would kill my back. If you have any more questions of this car and its suspension components just let me know, i have alot of hrs. underneath it.
