Default xb turbo questions

i was wondering if a turbo or a supercharger would damage an automatic transmission? if anyone knows or have done let me know. thanks

if you are pushing more power than the tranny can handle, yes, it will hurt it. not sure how much power the auto can handle, apparently the zpi xb with a manual found out the driveshafts can only handle about 230 whp stock.

In order to have an automatic handle more power u need to increase the line pressure usually done through the valve body, on newer more popular cars u can do this through a computer retune. The increase pressure will put more clamping force on the clutch packs inside the tranny so they won't burn up. This also increases shift firmness. The tranny isn't like a TH-350 or a 747 so u'll need to find someone who can increase the pressure.
