I'm not sure that the dyno has been performed yet. I can try to get some info for you.
Well, they dynoed the manual car. It wouldnt matter if its auto or manual. I think that will give the auto guys some idea of what to expect.

Highly unlikely... in fact I could I could almost guarantee "No". But Kenny or Nester, chime in if I'm incorrect...

I've heard 12-13's were goals for ZPI.

Kinda off topic here. There is a thread on the forums about this already. Anyhow, expect to run mid to low 14s with a turbo.

I just don't understand why none of the companies offering forced induction for these cars is willing to get CARB certification. They would have probably the world's largest market of custom xB builders on lock with a CARB approved kit.

The process of getting a kit CARB approved is very extensive, not to mention EXPENSIVE. Most small companies wont have the resources or funding to conduct a project like that. The CA EPA does some testing here at our shop so I know how costly it can get. What they do is test products and work with companies that want to be CARB approved. It aint cheap. Some people have had trouble getting refunds from ZPI so I highly doubt they will fork out the funds to get certification.

Also, there really ISNT that many XBs out there (margin wise) that are looking to install a FI system into their cars. Lets say it costs $2500 to make a $3300 kit. CARB certification might cost the company roughly $30k. The company will sell its kits to dealers for maybe $2900-$3000. They would have to sell a TON of kits just to break even. Oh, also, CARB certification is NOT only emissions legal. They also test product consistancy, quality control and they DO verify manufacture claimed HP numbers. You cant necesarily BS your way into CARB certification. We dont do emissions testing here but EPA comes here to verify manufacture HP gains figures.

Yeah... I always knew it was a stretch for ZPI. When I said I had high hopes for them at one time, it wasn't just the CARB thing. It was more for the kit its self. But as I have stated before, that hope has faded quickly.
Now, I don't want to get off topic out of respect for ZPI. But I guess my only hope now is for a company that has already obtained at least 5 exemptions to my knowledge. Maybe it is time that we as California Scion owners begin bugging them to CARB certify one, or both of their forced induction applications for our cars.

While I can understand your concerns, this thread is not related to their business practices or financial status. Just assume that this kit is not CARB legal. Besides out here in Texas we love smog..... not sure about you

Thats strange because when I asked they said 10,5:1. I asked if they can post it and they said yes, but they never did. So which is it? They said yes, and dont want to post it or now they are saying they never had it and they just lied to me? I dont get this at all.

I read through all 10 pages of the thread. I did see where you asked for an AFR chart, but I never saw where they said they would post it for you (because they don't have one),but they did say this( see below).

Straight from the thread:

Don't have a AFR chart... Might be able to do a street run and hold the camera over the wideband...
And once again:

Not for the dyno run. I can probably get one for a street run.

I guess I misunderstood. Thanks for clearing it up for me.

I think I would have felt more confident that they just didnt want to post it. I am just wondering why anyone would dyno test a turbo car that is originally NA without datalogging the AFR????? GG

Hows your car though? Are you expecting it soon?
