Default 05 xA CD player wont eject =(

Everything else works fine but the player wont eject the CD. Player still plays and all other buttons work.

I have searched and the Key on while holding eject , nor d/c the battery has not worked. I have not tried the fuse thing, but tbh the motor does not even run.

2 things:
1. Best way to remove the current CD?

2. Does this mean the unit is on it's way out?

Thanks,
Horus

Welcome to the party pal...
I have experienced this for the past couple of years with my wifes xA. You can get the cd out with another cd. Press the eject button and when it is trying to push it out stick another cd in there and fish around a bit.
This whole scenerio will continue to happen on and on until you replace the deck. I ended up putting an Avic in my tC and stuck my old tC unit in the xA.

Give it a smart Rap on the dash just above the player when it does it.
Has worked for me since 2004 when I got my box.

I have tried both methods, problem is the motor does not react. It's like the eject button is disconnected. =(

Car has a warranty still I am going to see if they will replace it for me.

If not what are some aftermarket alternatives?

I have a stock 05 deck that I just took out in perfect condition. $20+ shipping and it's yours.

For aftermarket HUs I'd definitely take a look at Eclipse HUs. Most of them have a 2-wire plug-and-play connection to the stock steering wheel controls.

The two HUs I've used that worked flawlessy are the Eclipse CD5425 and the Eclipse CD7000.

Here's a great thread on Eclipse HUs and Scion interface compatibility.

And here's a link to the CD5425 installation I did on my '06 xA.

i was gonna suggest smashing everything inside your car with a hammer in a fit of rage, but i'd go with frog's suggestion now instead

if its still under warrenty, have the dealer replace the hu for you..

sometimes when i used to play disks, they would stick if it was very hot out, or if the disk had a label applied to it..

now i use an ipod interface, so disks are nothing more then a memory....

Hey guys thanks for all the input, sorry i have not responded i gave up on it for a while.

Yes i still have a full warranty so i should get the HU replaced.

Ealvar:
I do not have the steering wheel controls, will the eclipse units still work or is there a better option?

If the dealer is a jerk about replacing it I may go aftermarket of talk to one of the guys here for one of theirs.

That t1808 is pretty slick looking is it a simple swap in?

Thanks again guys!

This happened on my gf's 05 xB. It became quite common for us and we were able to get it covered under warranty about 2-3 yrs ago. This issue seems way to common on the factory units. Even the new one that was put in would do this every now and then, but luckily we're able to get the CD out.

It only happens on my 05 unit with certain CDs. Now have the ipod interface so CDs are only sometimes used.
