Default 06 xA Noisy AUX - should I go to dealer?

Hello All,

I've recently installed a Sirius radio into my 06 Scion xA and noticed the horrible engine noise (alternator whine/ground loop type noise) it does fluctuate with the RPM's of the engine. (I've changed cables and rerouted the cables with no change in noise)

Now, I've read around here and on the net about this being a fairly common problem. Here's the question: The dealer said they would take a look at it, but that they were not aware of any issues. Is it even worth my time? Has anyone else had any success with the dealer fixing this problem?

Thanks!

i am using a gold plated aux cable to connect my laptop to the stock head unit on my xB. i've had no issues at all. definitely take it to the dealer because it may be a known issue (as it is apparent on this board.)

Maybe you missed the entire second paragraph I wrote in my OP, but I *have* searched this site and others and read up on what has been said. My question is if anyone has actually had the problem FIXED by the dealer.

I'm well capable of installing a ground loop isolator and being done with it, but that wasn't my question.

Had mine checked out...they said go buy a ground loop isolator and they'd install it for me.

we have had that issue with alot of the XM and Sirius units with factory style aux inputs, most require either a different ground(to the radio chassis or wire) or a ground loop isolator
