Default 300 watt 4 channel amp

Hey

I just bought a 4 channel Diamond Audio amp and I wondering if I should be concerned with the wattage my speakers that I am planning to buy. Is there some kind of rule of thumb I should be following when purchasing speakers to complement my amp?

Sorry if this has been answered already.

Thanks

which Diamond amp did you get. not that it will make much of a differance, but I might be able to help you out a little bit more. I am assuming that you got the D6 or 5 300.4.

An important thing to look for is matching the RMS of the speaker to the amp. Any diamond 6.5" set will be perfect with that amp. I sell a lot of diamond and most of the time on 4 channel amps, we bridge the channel to give us more power for a set of components.

Yes, I got the D5 300.4. How much do the DA components run? I guess I could look at ebay to get an idea. Thanks for the input though. I guess I wouldn't be able to run 4 speakers on that amp huh?

you could run 4 speaks, but 37 watts just isnt that much. 150 watts is great for a nice set of components up front.

37 watts? where did you get that number from. Unless Diamond amps are weird it should put out 75 watts a channel.

depending on the resistance, the amp would put out 75x4 or 37x4....... probably 37x4 at 8ohm which is what most regular speakers are..... most components are 4ohm which would give the 150x2 when you bridge the front and rear channels.....

why would you bridge the components? so you can have mono sound ?

what normal speakers are 8ohm? 90% of the ones i come across are 4ohm and most arent components. oh well.

if it's a 4 channel amp, you bridge the left front and left rear together and then the right front and right rear together....do this for front components and you still have stereo sound...
