Ok, I did a search & could not find a thread about adding a AC plug and switch. Help please.

My wife’s car, a '05 Matrix, has an 110v AC plug and switch. I was wondering if anybody has done this mod? I was thinking about installing them in two of the three knockouts in the center dash under the AC/Heater controls.

what would you need a DC plug for??

 

For any thing that runs on DC for one.
Second I dont have a cigarette lighter charger for my cell phone.

You could buy the 110V outlet for the matrix and hardwire it to a power inverter.

 

you mean AC? DC current is from batteries etc. things that run off of the sockets in your house are AC or alternating current

I mean AC (its Friday and I dont want to be at work).
Does any know if they have the same dimensions?

 

the outlet should pop right into the scion dash. i have a matrix coin holder in my xB.
