Angry air bag light

I have been driving around with the (the three stooges) lights on for approx 4 months. Took it to a mech. shop and he cleared it and said that there was nothing to worry about if they came back on because all it meant was there was no difference in the temp flowing across the O2 sensors. which could mean the cat was going or the O2 was bad. Anyways he said not to worry. Today I parked in the mall parking lot . I came out and started back home and the airbag light suddenly came on. Has anyone had this problem? What can I do to fix this?

I have a 2004 XB with 225,000 miles on it.

I know it is a late reply but did you happen to get the code from the mechanic? That will tell you right there if the cat is out.

I agree take it to the mechanic or any auto parts store that can read the code for you. Maybe once you get the code you can get a good clear picture of what should be done. Good luck
