Default Alpine KTP-445 Power Pack

This thing has been intriguing me since it was announced last year. Now it's finally available for just over $100.

What do you guys think? Supposedly, it's based off the PDX tech that they're using for their full size amps now. Plug and play, boosts the Alpine HU output from 18W RMS to 45W RMS.

Anyone used one yet?

how funny. I was jsut looking at this. I dont know what to think of it. It sounds pretty cool. In-line amp, 18w to 45w doesnt sound bad for 100 and the space you save...

any input guys?

I am a bit concerned but...I would need to read deeper into the specs.... also the power rating is based on 14.4v which our systems typically put out less ...mine runs about 13.9v

True, but even that. Assuming Alpine bases all of their specs off 14.4, that would mean that the 18RMS is even lower, so there's still an increase in overall output.

yes true... I could not find detailed spec on the rating system they used also I am curious about the slew rate. Unles the form is needed ther may some better oprions especially since I am assuming it going to use the high power out vs line level
