Amp Cut off switch
is it BAD for the stock HU if i install a amp cut off switch to the remote wire?...the wifey listens to country, and the sub just isnt doin it for her...thanks!
if you are worried about it being a prob. for the stock HU, just run your own wire to the turn-on. tap off of an acc. wire, put your switch on it then run it to the amp.
really, i don't think it will be a prob. to ur HU

there are lots of things you can do to fix this.
wire it through a relay. when you turn ur radiio on the realy contacts will close, you can then switch the output from the relay. no jolt (if any) from turning it on will ever get to the HU.
or run your own switch line from an acc source.
or better yet, don't listen to country (that stuff is garbage, imho), or don't let the wife drive the car.

but i appreciate the info bro, i will more than likely hook a realy up to the switch, thats a good idea man, where can i get one, just a local auto parts store?..or is that something i need to go to best buy or something to geT?.....Again thanks for the help!
radio shack, or any stero shop.
you'll need the relay, at least four terminal conectors (blues, in case you have to double up) and some wire 4-6' (16 ga. should do).
let me know if you need any more info on wiring it up...
just tell ur wife that you broke the radio working on it and it no longer gets country. lol
my friend had a filapino wife. a real piece of work... (good looking, but a bad personality)

cool thanks man!...hey i see your in jersey , anywhere near Redbank?...lol...You know who Kevin Smith is? He is the man, i stopped by there one day to see his comic shop, Jay and Silent bobs Secret Stash!...snootches!
I put a switch on the remote line when I installed my factory Bazooka in my tC. I mainly did it because when I listen to Howard Stern, the bass is way too overpowering. This way, I can just turn it off for my morning commute and turn it back on in the afternoon.
