Amp install problem
I am moving my car stereo from my old car to my new tC. Normally, for the remote turn on, I use the fuse block and find a fuse that kicks on when the engine starts. However, on the Scion, the fuses are the tiny kind and it can't be done very easily and besides, its an oldschool method anyhow.
So I'm trying to figure out how to wire it to either the harness or radio. I have an older Clarion cd player and on the back it has 2 wires seperate from the others, a blue/white and a solid brown. I am guessing by the blue/white that its the turn on but it does not work. On the scoche? harness, there is a solid blue wire on its own which says 'Amp Turn On' on the package and I tried wiring it to that and it does not work either. So how has everyone else wired their amp?
Thanks!

Finally fixed! I took a multi-meter and measured the voltage over the distribution block before the amp and of the 4 fused outlets, the one I was using did not work for whatever reason. Fuse was fine too, but by switching that, and using the ignition wire on the radio for the remote on, it was able to turn on.
Thanks so much for the advice!

Along the same lines...
When installing an amp with the factory hu, where is everyone connecting the remote turn to on the hu? I ended up using the gray switch wire, but the means everytime the car is turned on the amps come on. It is the only wire I could get to work.

Thanks....I think im going to put the Alpine back in since I have all of the wires already ran for the sub and amp. That way I dont have to tap into 5 wires to hook the amp up with the factory HU.
