amp mounted to sub box?!?!?
ok, i've searched on all sorts of forums and all over the web. some say it's bad to mount it there due to vibrations. some say it's just fine to put it there because its meant to take a beating.
i've got my jl audio 250x1 mounted to the side of my box. i could mount it to the right of the spare tire well but i want ppl to see it when i pop the trunk. i really would like to get to the bottom of this, don't care to burn up $300. thanks in advance for your help.

Can I suggest you err on the side of caution. I've even heard it's perfectly ok to mount crossovers in doors, but I wouldn't do it. Also, makes it easier to steal since the thief can clearly see the amp upon opening the lid...and makes it convenient for him to only have to carry the box as the amp you used to own is attached.
