Default Antenna Problems

I got a new HU installed and now there is static on all of my radio stations that i listen to. Has this happen to anybody else when they switch to an aftermarket HU? Does anybody know how I can fix it?

Happened to me, too.
I wonder if the xB has an antenna amplifier. Anyone know? The blue wire is hooked up the way it's supposed to be, but maybe the new HU doesn't have enough juice (.1 amp) to power it.
Little help, please...

Right. I found another post around here somewhere that had a wiring diagram and a great explanation.

Here's what worked for me:
I had previously run a fat line from the battery to a distribution block for power to the head unit & amplifier. Since the 12v ACC wire wasn't being used for that, I used it to power the antenna amp.

Where is the antenna amplifier at and what does it look like? Is it attached to the back of the factory Pioneer radio...

I also have the same problem too. I just installed XM though so took care of that. Even in the one week I kept that junk factory head unit The reception still sux compared to other cars with a mast antenna. I heard there was an amplifier but never tried to track it down. Ever since my dad had an 86' Silverado with in-glass radio antenna I have always hated them. One plus to them is there is no mast antenna sticking out of your fender though.
