Any Alternatives to Dynamat?
hey. i recently installed a pretty decent sound system in my xa and now i'm getting rattles all over the place, including my doors, trunk, and the various little thingies that shake when the bass hits hard enough. i know i'll need to install something to eliminate this problem, but dynamat is sooooo expensive and i don't want to shell out a whole lot of bread. anyone have any more frugal (cheap) solutions to this problem? thanks.
Grace Ice and Water barrier. Used for roofing applications. It's the same stuff as dynamat just without the aluminum backing ( it plastic instead ). Check out this thread here:

This is what I will do to my xA when I put the stereo in.

Several years ago, I used RAAMmat. It is much cheaper than Dynamat and really easy to apply. You can check out the stuff here: http://www.raamaudio.com

any ideas on how much i would need to do an xa? i want to do doors, floor, trunk, as well as install it in all the little places that rattle inside the car. i'm thinking maybe 60square feet should do the trick but i'm not sure.
i read an xb owner used 50 so i thought 60 would do the trick. maybe i'll order more. now i'm planning on adding 2 more amps and much better speakers so i'll definately need the extra protection.
You may want to check this out, interesting reading, sorry but not meant to be a plug, just info to help you decide which way to go.
