Default anybody with HID's

for anybody with HID's on your scion, is there a specific kit you guys would suggest for my xb. I'm thinking about getting a set for my xb, i've done some research and found that some people buy kits, and some people peice together a kit from different places. I basically want a kit that will work with both my high and low beams. any info would be helpful thanks

Boxzila has a high/ low HID kit that i picked up from In Pro Car Wear. I don't find myself using the high beams very often, so i'd recommend the standard kit for most people that aren't made of money (i got mine at cost through my shop) Pre made kits are the way to go, as they focus the beam how it should be. My Datsun 510 has HIDs from a BMW, and they have no focus and blind oncoming traffic- but they sure are bright! I think www.fbimini.com has the regular kit for $399.95 and the high/ low for $549.95.. not completely sure. Good luck!

i have the phillips 6000K kit on my xb, and it shines a very HID authentic purplish-white. i have the hi-low beam setup but never bother using the high beam since the low beam is hella bright enough already.

i would not recommend going above 6000k because the HIDS would just look too bluey, which is sorta ricey IMO. you never see lexus, bmw, benz, with bluey HIDS right? All their setups are purplish white.

I ordered it through a friend (who has a secret hookup from god knows where) for $460. I got it the next day and installed them in 20 minutes.

Do those kits have levelers? How did you mount the ballasts?

i have installed 3 kits onto xB's.
i've done a retro 3 series d2s setup,
then a 7000k drop in kit.
and now on my OWN car i've done a 7000k SPW kit.
i've used over 4-5 kits in my life on different cars.
and i've put hids on integras, civics, cr-vs, xb's,
and more! my current kit is like a H7 spw 7000k kit.
i think the color is a nice blue/white. lots of blue color but light
output is nice! its badass. i mean i've had 6000k for years but i've
came to realize if u want blue hids.. xb;'s are the cars to put it on!
cuz its like.. an xB! NOT a civc.. anywho;s
i do CLEAN installations.. mounting the ballast perfectly...
running relays so if u stall or restart ur engine the lights don't flicker!
i'm selling the current kit on my car for 300 bucks INSTALLED!
it has glare guards on it and if u have ur xB lowered or stock height.
with facotry aimmed headlights it will go right in and NOT blind motorists!
i've very **** about glare. i'm more than happy to show u my car before u buy!
300 installed!

Default 8000K H4 HID

I do have some secret connection who can get I can get it for flat $400 no tax & no shipping. Its direct import from Japan! Its metal plated instead of plastic. Well, I ask for 8000K but they gave me 10,000K so which is better than I expected. I got my H4 for the xA but I will install it with rest of my mods.

So let meeh kno if you guys are interested so I can order for y'all. Email me at work at "Edwin@Anzousa.com" or my personal email at "edkusa@Yahoo.com".

Best Regards,

Edwin

Warning...do not go over 8000k...even 8k is pushing it.

10,000k...LOL...Just thinking of the light output reminds me of those keychain LED blue lights...

If you go above 8k, you are outputing LESS usable light than if you were to stick with your stock halogen setup.

That's all from me...people seem to like the way my IPF HIDs shine.

I got the Gourmet Garage HID Kit. I know a couple of fellow scion owners with the same kit. Looks pretty good. The site also has a picture with the xB install from a Blitz vehicle. The site has moved and i am not sure what the address is now, but i will let you know if i find it. But then HIDs are not approved by the DOT n NHTSA, so good luck finding good stuff now.

I'd really like to get a set of HID's to install in my soon to be xB but I thought they were illegal...hmmmm...but are they illegal in all 50 states or just in certain ones?

Default h i dizzle

yes hid's arent dot approved as james (sgvside) said. They are illegal in all of the US not just certain states. They are illegal to have, but if you get ticketed, its the same ticket as having super white bulbs. Not a big deal. I too have the Gourmet Garage hids and i vouch for them, but they arent sold anymore so i really cant help you there. SPW kits are good as well as hellas. My hid kit is a 5000K setup and its white with a very slight hint of blue. Very bright and usable light. If you ever go to the TSW meets i can show you the setup i run.

Casper glare guard/H4 adaptors!
Fits a D2S or D2R into an H4 housing.
Very good quality I might add!

www.hidforums.com

that will be an awesome source for you my friend.

D2s and D2r are specific bulb types(like H3, H1, H4, 9006, etc).
except they are hid bulbs. d2s goes into projector housings(USUALLY)
and d2r(usually) goes into a reflector housing.

that doesn't mean just because you have a specific housing u can rock those bulbs.
those bulbs are hids! u need a ballast which is a speacial powersource for the bulbs.

as for fitment, the caspershield is an CNC Aluminum Billet adapter that will convert
a PHILLIPS D2S or D2R bulb into a H4 headlight(like ours).

if u check the classfieds, ull see i was trying to sell a hid kit that consisted of
caspershield h4 adapters with d2s bulbs on it already and a set of ballasts.

the kit as been sold a long time ago, but i can put kits together anytime.
