Hi Jay,

Glad u like the dash! Not sure on the actual time to do the complete dash but it took quite a bit of time. We sanded the dash, gelcoated it, and then prepped it for paint. The center peice took ALOT of time to fabricate the monitor into...no fiberglass, just tuff-fill (super strong bondo) and metal glaze (super fine bondo), and then primed it. If I had to guess, probably around 20-25 hrs of labor between us all, although the dash was out for weeks so it could of took longer.

No enclosure for the Solobaric yet but ill let ya know if that changes!

Keep jammin,

Hey Ronnie, name is Jay. You know what, that is exactly what I had in mind for my bB. That looks tiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiigggggggggggggggggggghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhttttt!!! Gotta give you some props. how long did it take them to fiberglass the dash and paint it? Will Audioformz make the enclosures for the Kicker Solobarics soon? I think we got some people out there that got the solobarics.[/quote]

No worries Denny! With all this talk about Chris going to fish camp and all, he has no excuses..he better have the best damn install of any xB!

Fish does some awesome glass and acrylic work...i remember an old install he did where he blended plexi (or lexan) with fiberglass...was totally amazing! And this was back in the days.

Can't wait to see Chris's xB after he and fishman tears into it! Just remember to POST PICS!

actually im thinking about selling the xb, but I have one that will show up in a couple of weeks that has agreed to a very high budget. However I am working on a escalade right now that Im putting a 23" monitor in the tailgate with lexan like fish used to do. The cool thing about this truck is the tailgate has been welded shut and I am also incorporating speakers outside along with the monitor. Dont you just love it when customers tell you do whatever you want just make sure people are trippin when they see it...... God I love this business.

Well... I had wondered what the interior would look like if I painted some pieces in TCM, now I know.

Looks great.

Hate to hear that you may be selling your box! It's such a great car to work with but at least you can trick out your customer's boxes!

Don't forget the superman emblem on the escalade!

Liquid acrylic is one material I haven't worked with but I'm always eager to learn new things! Keep me posted!

Thanks Scott. TCM is a great color to work with on the interior. I think it would work well with many other xB colors. The next step now is to use TCM on the outside of my Onyx Blue Pearl xB. Just not sure exactly where yet.

I've got a BOP xB too, and I was thinking a 2 tone paint job with TCM on top would like hot.

Took off the factory terminal block from the positive cables and ran the cables directly into the Tsunami battery distribution top.

Thanks! Painting the dash does take quite some time but its well worth it! If anyone is interested in painting the dash, I would suggest starting with the dash pillars, which are good parts to practice and learn from.

Keep jammin,

Yeah those would be easier to start on. I'm just getting started working with fiberglass. Not too good at it yet. I just got through with the dash in my truck. The only fiberglass done to it is on the back wall part where I filled in some factory holes that I wanted smoothed out. Just lots of sanding!! Here's some pics of it.

Took about a month to do on and off. I sanded everything you see painted starting with 120 grit then went to 220 and then up to 600 and then 600 wet and then filler primer and then paint and clear coat. I'm hoping to get started on my box pretty soon!!

Your GMC dash looks very clean! Great job as well. Is that carbon metallic?? I have a black 2004 GMC Sierra Duramax as well. After seeing your pics, its tempted to do that to my truck as well, but I just don't have the time right now. Good luck with your xB! If you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Thanks! Yeah it's carbon, same as the exterior.
