No, a way to check this is, to push and hold your window switch down while you have your headlights or your dome light on. When it reaches the bottom, a voltage spike will cause the lights to dim and the motor will know its at the bottom. The relay inside the window switch will recognize that the window is down all the way because of this voltage spike. The same thing happens with the auto down buttons as well.

Back from the dead!!

I was just in a Lexus GS the other day and noticed that all of the switches throughout the car allow auto up/down. Saw this thread and was wondering if anyone else has looked into converting. I know about the DEI module, and might end up using that, but I'd like to try it with factory switches if possible. The Lexus switches all have a slight detent at the upper and lower movement to engage the auto feature.
I think the DEI modules have a voltage sensing circuit which stops the windows from crushing someone on the up movement, so it can't be that hard for an OEM to do. Never made sense that you can auto down to pay a toll or order at the drive through, but when you have your food in hand or start to drive on the highway again, then you have to hold the button while the window goes up. ???

I know a lot of Toyota products have this feature, I'm just trying to clarify if anyone has successfully equipped an xB with it. I know the DEI modules will work, but want to see if using factory switches alone will allow it, or if there is an external module used in the Toyota system also.
