Bad reception with Sirius
I have my Xa now for 3 days. I installed my Sirius into the car, and the static is driving me crazy. Basicly the sound breaks in and out on many different channels. I am using the FM transmitter that is built into the unit. Im my previous car, I had no problems, so I know the unit works very well. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone else experiences this?
Do you think that putting a ground kit as described in the install guides will help?
Did it help your overall reception when you installed it?
I guess I can use the aux input for it, but I am trying to avoid running more wires in the dash.
Thanks for the replies

we rented a Chevy HHR for a road trip to NY and I "temporarally" installed my JVC Sirius and used the wireless built in fm modulator. I would have to frequently change stations because they were bleeding in on the Sirius. I had to unscrew the cars antenna off the roof and the problem went away.
vehicles with amplified antennas are more proned to this bleedover using wireless fm modulators. one option is interrupt the antenna turn on signal coming from the radio to the antenna amplifier. a toggle switch would do the trick.

I would do a direct wire in... screw the FM modulators... you want crystal slear music from Satellite, why use the radio waves to get it to your speakers. A direct wire in will improve SQ 10 fold...
