Are Blue Top Optima Batteries only for Marine Use?

Can the Blue Tops be used in our cars? I have a blue top that I got from someone and want to know if I can use it in the xB.

i think someone answered your last post on being for marine use only... red and yellow i believe are for cars.

i know of at leasxt one person running a optima blue top in his car

Yeah...I just called optima and they said the light grey case, which i have, is for dual purpose and can be used in a car, but the dark charcoal one is just for only starting purpose.

Yep, I have one in my xb, I have used blue tops in my cars about 5 years. It is mainly a marine battery, but it can be used for starting of cars, or boats.

The Blue Top with Light Grey Case is nearly identical to the Yellow Top and is a deep cycle battery just like the Yellow as opposed to the Red Top which is a starter battery. Hope this clears things up a bit.
