Those with a carputer, how do you get the audio to play through the car speakers.

It's a computer tied into the car.

If you have a stock head unit, you need to tap into the aux input. Depending on the ouput of the puter (probably stereo)....it should be fairly easy to do. May have to play with the audio setting on the puter tho.

I have heard people keep their stock headunit, but relocate it. You can get a smaller headunit that is easily hidden out of sight, run the sound in from from the computer, and then you still have your volume controls seperate and can listen to the radio or CD's if you feel the need. That would probably be the easiest way.

Another good place to look is www.mp3car.com It is an entire site devoted about carputers and getting them to work. I plan on installing a carputer in my car this winter. Good luck with yours and let us know how it turns out.

Thats one way of doing it or if you don't want the HU in your car at all you'll need to use an amp.

Here is a link that'll give you a rough idea.

I myself have already ordered my amp and I'm just waiting for it so I can finally hook everything up.

Hey, I did one in my car... for pics and stuff click here https://www.scionlife.com/forums/vie...938&highlight=
To answer your question: I used a separate amplifier and connected its inputs directly to the computer... it was the easiest and least expensive thing for me to do.

I removed my head unit and hooked up my amps directly to the pc and the amps to the factory speakers.
