Default Crazy door locks

OK, so one day I noticed my drvers door door lock is not locking or unlocking with the remoe or electric door locks. It's only the drivers door doing it and the door works fine with the key. I can see the lock move just a little when I try to unlock the doors but it doesn't unlock. Any ideas?

I noticed when I use the key to unlock the passenger door, All the doors unlock/lock. But, when I unlock the driver's door, all of the other 3 doors remained locked. Hmmm
Never looked at that till yesterday. Anyone else?

I think you need to get a new "door lock actuator". I had the same problem in my truck....new actuators fixed the problem....cheap fix too.

my drivers do is starting to have this problem.
the other day i had the window down and my arm loked the door. when i got to were i was going i tried to get out... nothing, i couldnt even pull up on the door lock. i tried to lock it then unlock it with the remote, nothing. i tried using the button in the door to lock and then unlock it, still nothing.
man i was hot, everyone was stairing at me tring to get out of my car.
i had to reach outside and use that door handle to get out and it worked fine.
i havent had that problem since.
ill just take it over to the dealer it it gets worse.
the thing that made me so mad was a group of people (that i know) waching me try and get out of my car.

My RS2 is doing the same thing. I attributed the problem to my Boo boos---but maybe there is another problem.

mine does it when its cold, just about broke the key off in the door lock last year, spent last winter crawling through the backseat to get in, and the dealership wouldn't fix it, said they couldn't duplicate the problem

When you unlock the driver's door, if you turn the key again, the others will unlock.

That is normal. When you unlock the drivers door,, one twist of the key will only unlock the driver's door. Twist the key (the same way) a second time and it will unlock all other doors. When unlocking from the passenger side,, it will unlock all doors with one twist. This - I believe - is sort of a safety thing so when you unlock your door to get in,, someone could be crouched on the other side of the car and jump in with you.. i.e. a car jacker of sorts. But anyway,, not sure if anyone else told you that,, and I didn't want to read all the posts....

I had the same problem about a month ago. I took my RS2 to the dealership and it was a weak actuator. They replaced it for free because it was under warranty. It works fine now.

I've had the same problem for about a year now. I finally peeled the door off and I think it may be a crappy actuator, or bad wiring. Problem is, they don't sell actuators like this at AutoZone.

I brought the issue up under warranty last year with my dealer before the warranty ran out, so I'm going to give it back to them to fix - it works without fail now, and it isn't unduplicateable.

This guy's quote is freakin hilarious:

Yes, this has happened to me MANY TIMES!! very embarrassing actually it is exactly the story that swartzautoman told......Its like if i have it locked, and pull the door **** before i unlock it, and THAN try to unlock it, it wont come up, ive gotten locked into my OWN CAR for about 10 minutes because this happened...it happens to all my 4 doors, i always tell people in my car, DONT PULL THE LATCH IF ITS LOCKED, WAIT TILL I UNLOCK IT AND THAN PULL LATCH lol.. they look @ me weird, but its gonna save US the embarrassment
