Default Custom Door Sills

Hey guys, I searched the forum but couldn't find what I was looking for, so here's a new topic!

I really like the Aluminum door sills on the 2005 rs 2.0 xB

I was wondering if anyone knew how I might be able to get some custom ones made that say RS "Roxy" instead of RS 2.0

I know it's kind of childish, but I love my car and love putting personality into her.

Any ideas?

I have asked the same ? here several times. The only conclusion i have come up with is to have them custom made. I would think that this could be done at a local machine shop, but it would be costly.

I have been thinking the same thing and was about to put a post! I'm getting sick of the OEM sills and am lookin for something with crome and carbon fiber. There got to be someone on here who can make things like this?

You can get CF ones from nish i think, but it wouldn't be a hard DIY project.

Ahhh lets see .... First you would need some kind of press, to make mold in some aluminuminum. THen you need to find the aluminum, press it just right. Polish it. Then have it etched or engraved with a special pattern of the persons choosing. Your right, making them should be easy.

Maybe some silver vinyl that would match could both cover the old and add the new...

Where's Randode???

Yeah! I was thinking of getting some carbon fiber or CF vinyl and put it over the OEM sills but leaving a 1/2 edge of the aluminum all around. I don't like th etched xB lettering and the honeycomb pattern. Might look tacky though if the edge is straight cut, would have to round off the edges or something to make it look less like a sticker sittin on top of the sill. Yeah, Where's Randode?

What would be nice is to get some made that match the OBX shift ****. Chrome sills with a piece of carbon fiber inlaid in the middle.

my cousin owns a motorcycle shop and has a CNC machine, the ideas in my head are whirlling about. mabey i will send him a factory sill and see if he can do a couple of custom aluminum ones, and see how much it would cost. If he can do it, ill post back with how much per/sill plate.

That is just the answer I was hoping for! That would be absolutely amazing if we could get a reasonable price! Thanks for helping!

IMO fiber glass would be the last thing i would want to make them out of. They are door sills, which get kicked, nicked and stuff falls from hands ... fiber glass would break too easy. Sure, you could make them beefy, but then it would look awkward IMO.

What we need to do is find the place that makes them for Scion. Buy them straight from the manufactor.
