I guess one of us should start pushing buttons untill we find what works....

 

Watch for the secret ejector seat button....

 

lol......I knew that these cars felt like something from a james bond movie......I have heard that the Missile launcher control is right above the ejector seat button.

 

I had mine move to the Easy Bake opening... it might as well be good for something....

 

I had someone ask me today what that was for and I told them its an oven.....I got the "What the Hell" look before they started laughing

 

I think I will get some little muffin tins for mine...Keep change and what-nots....

 

Are there any easter eggs besides the radio "switch-a-roo'?

I was hoping for something a little more fun than merely a new screen at startup. Any thoughts?

 

from what I have read the startup changes are all we get. If only there was a push button fix for the rest of the HU illumination that didnt involve changing LEDs

 

The Easter eggs were printed in the Spring 05 Scion catalog. Not that that helps.

Personally, lol, it was a lot of trouble for nothing. ;) I would have wanted my name to stay on kinda like a screen saver.

 

yea the printed them for the 06 catalogue.....but didnt change the button config to work with the new radios.....but I will keep looking till I find something that works.

 

Sweet! I got my 06' xB with the Sirius Radio to say "Big J's Toaster!"
And by the way, the directions in the radio manual are very good and helpful.

 

Now, if we can only get the japanese scion text on the '06 radio.

Yeah the LED change is a pain for the HU. I did mine, plus the conversion to LEDs for the display backlight, and will not do that part for others due to the time involved... I would have charged more for labor than the cost of a new HU Lots of micro surface mount LEDs in there.

I dont think the easter eggs are listed anywhere in the manuals. I found out about most of them on here.

 

That link you gave shows how to change the text on the startup screen, but doesn't help with whether or not the 06 HU can be made to display the Japanese line or the others. The radio is different on the 06. There is no A or M button anymore like there was with the 05 HU.

That was the question...what buttons replace the A and M buttons as far as functionality goes...or are those other screens even available on the 06 HU. No one seems to know.

I asked Scion directly.
They said that that is not in the '06 radio.
(This would be if you chat with a person on the scion website)

But yea, you can edit the text...but there are no preset texts, like "Scion = A+B+C"
And I think you can only change color on the iPod radio.

 

Did it on my '06, but I have to find the instructions again.
It does work.
