Default Ebay Voltage Regulator Problem/Question?

so i went ahead and bought one, you've seen them on ebay so you know what a voltage regulator is, anyways, i installed it yesterday afternoon, and by night fall, my sub was hitting at less than 1/2 it's original volume. i figure since both are connected to the positive side of the battery, that had to be the problem. so i check it out and realize the regualator has a light that is on while my car is off! this has to be killing my battery right? i'm about 10 seconds from tearing off that junk.

um the voltage regulator should connect to both neg and positive sides of the battery or postive batt post and a chassis ground.

i was talking about the power cable to the sub and the power cable of the regulator going to the battery. you are right about where the cables go to. long story short, i disconnected it for fear it will kill my battery. i emailed the seller of the thing to see what he has to say. i think i just threw away my money.
