Ebrake Handle Removal...Help!
Hey guys right now i am sending off my xB boots to Maciek (redlinegoods) so he can make templates and have Italian Leather replacement boots custom fit and made for our cars!
I was able to remove the E-Brake boot easily but am having SERIOUS problems with the E-brake Handle. i have looked around for a set screw... nope.... i have tried pullingstraight up, twisiting, prying up at the bottom.... but nope, wont budge for me. Has anyone removed their Ebrake and replaced it for an aftermarket? or does anyone know how to just remove it!
Please HELP!

Such a simple thing made so much harder than it needs to be. I mean do I HAVE to pay to get it installed?

if you pay, theyre just gonna cut it off themselves.
the only way to remove the stock ebrake is to heat it up and pull it off or as i did, heat it up and pry away at it... however you do it, it will be ruined once your done.
i wouldnt pay, theyre just gonna laugh at you and take your money.

Ok, I was trying to think on how to get the thing off without causing a fire in the car or cutting off a finger
How have people used heat and or cut it off? what tools have worked and or not?? I would love to get this installed before the next Scion meet, heh

the long lighter used for lighting fireplaces.... and a screwdriver.
remove the bottom ebrake boot first, dont want to ruin that.
start from the bottom (underside) get your flathead screwdriver under there and pry up a lil, there is a lil gap from where they didnt glue all the way that you should be able to pry a lil..... work around to the top get as far as you can around, then start heating from where the end of your screwdriver stops under the handle.... heat heat heat, then shove the screwdriver in.... then pry down some more, and heat where it stops again....
i found it was easy to get the bottom half pryed up and ripped off, then just heat the whole thing up, easy also by heating the exposed metal by the handle to melt the rest of the glue, then pull the other half of the handle off...

looks great but the button for the ebrake release looks kinda short......you have any problems releaseing the ebrake cuzz for me i tend to have my ebrake pretty tight to where ppl will have a hard time putting it down if they wanna steal my box
It is too short, it's a problem with the manufacturer since a piece is too thick and does not let you pull the whole piece into place. only real issue besides the install. Although I got used to it overnight and it's not a problem.
