Default External Temperature & Direction Compass Unit

Is there a dual external temperature & direction gauge that anyone has installed that they would recommend?

Bunch of folks have installed the Gentex rearview mirror that has these (compass & temp) plus maplights and/or garage door opener. I have mine but haven't installed it yet. Additional benefit is bigger field of vision than the stock mirror (more for an xB than xA I believe)

Just checked out the mirrors. Exactly what I'd like. Is the installation difficult? I've got it for $99, sound right? Thx

I did one:

I put "xb" and "mirror" in the title...should have come up in a search. If its Gentex and its an xB and you buy the wire channel, get the short one. Its perfect.

Heres an answer for your next question:

I got the mirror installed, but I'm getting what I know are inaccurate readings for the tempurature. Any suggestions on where to locate it. Right now it is below the driver's side headlight and outside of the radiator. Yeah, yeah, it probably is too close to the radiator. But any recommended location? Thanks

Got mine installed yeterday. The GENK31 is what I had and works great BUT it does not com with the wiring harness that includes the tie in to the dome light so my maplights don't come on when you open the doors. Sent an email to mitocorp.com and they can sell me the wiring harness that goes with the GENK30 that has this option for an additional $25. So if you want this feature, look for the GENK30

If an optional OEM harness is available, then the connections are available in the mirror itself.
See harnesses:

I believe the yellow wire is the map/dome light connection. I remember seeing that black box in the instructions.
Wonder if any wiring diagrams/pinouts are out there?
