Default is the factory bazooka 8" sub worth it?

Thinking of going with the factory install of the bazooka tube, but I don't know if it's worth almost $500. Any advice?

In a word...NO. I almost sprung for one when I bought my xB, until I heard one. Click on the link to see what I did to my factory system for $400.

There are way better methods to spend $400-500 on audio upgrades in a Scion.

You can go to www.crutchfield.com and order the same sub, actually, a better version of that bazooka 8" sub for about $250 and get the kit from ebay or Toyota for about $30, then it takes about an hour or two to install. for just about half the price. Or you could order a smaller sub that sounds better and stash it under the fake floor. I wouldn't get the dealer option in the xB.

The dealer installed price is way to high. Is the Baxzooka sub any good? Depends on what you are looking for. If you want LOUD thumping bass forget it. If you just want to add a little more depth to the sytem yes. If you are able to spend some time and effort you can purchase the same Bazooka kit Scion installs off of Ebay for about $ 265 shipped and install it yourself.
