Default HELP! sub isnt working(fixed)

ok, i have an alpine cda 9884 HU, a profile 1000 amp and an alpine 12 type e. the amp is 310w rms at 4 ohms so its the right choice im not asking that. my HU has an rca output for a sub so im running that to my amp, like the HU owners manual says. i turn on the power, my Hu turns on, and the amp powers up, but theirs nothing coming from the sub. the wiring, amp, and rca's are all brand new tonight. the sub is used, and my hu is only a few months old. WTF?! is up? plz guys, i was so excited, and i was till about 10 trying to get this to work, and ive got a major cold already lol.

Well the amp is powering on so it is not a fuse problem, have you taken the sub out of the box and looked for loose wires...Was it working before, or is this the first time you tried to install it?

Pull the sub out and directly put it to the amp and see if the sub gets power if it does it might have been loose in the box if you dont get anything out of the sub idk ha

edit: re-reading your post it sounds like this is your first install? If i am wrong dont take offense, but maybe go back and check over your intstall/wires

ya first install, i pulled the sub out already, the wires were tight i guess, the connections on the subs are some kind of spring loaded thing and the wire is tight in their. i have a second sub, maybe ill wire it and see, but i took an amp meter set to watts and checked the amp output for the sub and it wasnt reading anything, am i just not getting any input from my Hu? thanks for the help
