Default How to make Generic(eBay) Sunvisors Fit?

OK I have a question about TV sunvisors. All the ones I ever see for sale are 36cm long, which is 14 inches. Now I measured my sunvisors in an xB, and they are 18 inches long. My friend bought a pair of the 14 inch long sunvisors and said they wouldn't hook on the latch because they weren't long enough. Is there some place that sells the longer ones, or is there some way to move the hook so the shorter visors can latch on? Any help would be appreciated.

So apparently nobody has ever put the built-in sunvisors in an xB before?

I am trying to find out if I can install any generic sunvisor by just unglueing the latch and moving it closer or not. I don't wanna go ripping it off just to find out I can't reglue it, or to find out I simply coundn't find anywhere selling 18" long sunvisors.

Well I don't think that the snaps for the visors are glued inplace. I think the snap or screw into the headliner. Depending on which would determine if you could move them but either way your gonna have the issue of filling a hole to deal with. I don't know how skilled you are with metal or wood or the like but you could use and equal diameter metal rod or wooden dowel fastened to the top of the cheapo depot visor to allow it to be snapped into the factory locations. Honestly, I can see why your not getting responses to this because it seems pretty common sense and the average person doesn't want to rethink all that stuff. BUT, if you care to explain why and what your doing people are usually happy to help with ideas.

None that I have ever seen. The longest I have found are 16.5", and I am going to try those ones out. I measured, and it is only 15" from the pole straight to the hook, so hopefully these will fit.

Yeah that sounds like a lot of work for these cheap things, if it ends up that is what I have to do, then I think it would probably be easier for me to just buy a screen and cut in. But if my new generic 16.5" ones dont fit right, I will have to find out if they are just glued or not. And thank you very much for responding

Now to get specific: To anybody who has bought the pre-assembled sunvisors with monitors in them for their xB: Where did they come from, was there any major modification needed, and how did they work out? Thanks in advance.

the latches for the sunvisors are screwed into the metal above the headliner.

they can be moved. you need to trim the guide pin off. you need to make a new hole for the screw wedge to go into.....

then you need to fill the 'old' holes.
