Default i need help with an audio question... its a yes/no answer !!

i have a quick and dumb question.. i havent takin my stock cd player out of my xb yet, and i was wondering if u can hook up a amp to the back of the stock radio or do i need to buy a aftermarket cd player...thanks

You can't connect the amp directly. Basically, you have 2 options:

1. Buy a "SubPlug" from the guys at NorCal Scion. It will convert your rear outputs to RCA, and allow you to run an amp for a sub, etc. They're about $25 bucks, I think. You can retain the stock HU.

2. Yeah, swap out the stock HU, and get something with pre-outs.

I run the sub-plug to power up a 10" sub, with the rest of the system stock. It retains the factory look so no one will break into the car, and it's cheap! My $0.02...
