Indash screen response?
Has anyone noticed that there in dash headunit with screen is slow to respond when the temperature is really cold outside? Or am i the only one with this problemo. It just drives me crazy.
I know someone lives where it gets really cold and has a screen in the dash. Does the graphics and stuff that moves on the screen respond slowly,, for example when i turn the volume up it takes like 5-10 seconds for the number to change from volume level 6 to 15, and while a CD is playing it will count the seconds the song has played and it will skip numbers from like 30 seconds to 45 seconds.....
It is normal. Display uses LCD (Liquid Crystal) technology. When it is very cold the liquid gets thicker so it responds more slowly.
Couple of weeks ago it was near zero here and after overnight parking the display was quite lethargic. But 5-10 seconds seems a bit too slow. It was more like couple of seconds for it to change.
But I suppose in Alaska with -40 temperatures, 5-10 seconds might not be out of the question . For all I know it might be frozen solid at that temperature...
