I have mine set on XB, with feel setting, bass -1, treble 5. It sounds good. Today I removed the old factroy rear speakers with some 6.5" component set. It sounds great!

Heh, arise from the grave ye old thread! So, once again, does anyone know exactly what these changes do to the speakers? I'd hate to use a different car model and find out that 6 months later my speakers start vibrating badly because I was routing the wrong amperage to them or something. No, I dont know much about car audio.

You won't mess up your set. My guess is that settings have to do with speaker location, speaker direction, and volume of interior airspace. But I am just guessing.

Does anyone remember how or where to find how to change the text on the stock pioneer unit from SCION to a custom text? I forgot where it is. Thanks

Do you have your owner's manual? The answer is in the back of it. It is a bit complicated pressing buttons and turning the key on and off.

2006 Xb, when i held down the SSP setting was on TC. this setting had a very flat tone and not that loud at max vol. so i dont know if only the '06 has the 3 settings TC, XB, and XA but the XA i think has the sharpest high's and loudest overall sound XB still very loud but leans toward the mids... IMO the TC setting sucks in the XB... Also the '06 can play MP3 and WMA files... do the previous years?

Had no idea about this until reading the tech article. My 06 xB was set on tc. Switched it to xB - What a difference! Another great tip from ScionLife.

Hmmm. Glad this was posted. I tried mine and as it turns out it was set for a tC. The tweeters were getting a little too much power before but now the levels are better. Doesn't sound better per se, but these settings will preserve the life of the speakers for sure.

My dealer didn't mention it either. And I agree, the xB setting sounds much better than the tC setting.

Default set the treble to 0???

On almost all of my stereo's especially if I have tweeters, I put treble to almost full for better clarity, you all really keep it on 0, weird?? and if u have bass installed u must keep it above 0 to level out the sub....

I think it's funny how there is a setting for each car, and a lot of folks are using settings ment for another Scion. Goes to show, its all about personal taste.

Side note, I just changed mine from tC to xB, and it sounds much better. I'm quite happy.
