Anyone have any information on this new unit? I am looking for a release date and price. From the specs it looks like they added a 2nd set of video inputs and increased the preouts to 5V.

Bump I am trying to decide if I should buy the DDX7015 on clearance or this new model. It all depends on the new pricepoint since there are 2 models coming out.

 

from my friend he said there's no price change. and the 8017 has 5.1. but i'm not sure if he's just saying that, cause i'm sucker for paying things at cost. just can't resist.

but some cool things i like in the new models....
• MPEG 1/2 Video files (.mpg) and JPEG files (.jpg) Playback, now i can download all them silly mpg's from the internet.
• External Media Control — iPod Ready, but since i've always had dvd, i was never into cd's/mp3's.
• Optional TV Tuner (KTC-V500N)DDX7017, still wish this was included.

 

Thanks for the info katchkillah. Did your friend say the DDX8017 is going to be the same price as the DDX7015 or the DDX7017 will?

The 5.1 in the DDX8017 sounds cool but I don't think I will ever really need it so I am looking at the DDX7017. Right now Crutchfield has the DDX7015 on clearance at $1199 but the few added features look good as well. I know I could get the DDX7015 cheaper off of eBay but I would rather buy it where the 2 year factory warranty is still valid.
