anyone know why the prices on the kenwood nav units have gone up so much recently? i used to see them for around $600, but now they're going for up to $999 on ebay.

 

looks like the unit is discontinued (kna-dv4100). without a replacement, that may be why the price is up on ebay.

 

So that means there will no longer be a kenwood navi system? Well that sucks, I guess i should have bought the nav system when i had the chance instead of being a cheapo and just getting the head unit. Now i dont have the money for nav.

Actually looking on kenwoods site it doesnt say anything about the kna-dv4100 being discontinued where did you source that info from maybe you were joking i dont know. http://kenwoodusa.com/products/ListP...&k3=56&pr=1978 theres the link to the dv4100 its still on the site doesnt say anything about being discontinued. crutchfield says it is discontinued. didn't believe it until i called them and that's what they told me. another site...can't remember which says the same.
yes i saw that kenwood still lists it. makes no sense to me, since they still sell the ddx7017 and 8017...hey if i had the time or inclination i might call the 800 number for kenwood.

but i'll leave that to someone else.

hey, before the 4100, they had the 3100. so maybe they are just gearing up for a new model. it is over a year old.

 

If they are i hope the newer model will work with the older headunits, i mean mine is the kenwood ddx6017 its a 2005 model but im just hoping the new nav unit will still work because like i said i will add it it the near future just need the moeny first. And i also dont feel lie searching ebay for someones used 4100 just not crazy about used electronics.
