LED dome light?

Okay, so I tried to install a 4 LED dome light a few minutes ago.
It lit up and then apparently blew the dome fuse (which looks like it handles the dome light, clock, stereo and RKE). I swapped the fuse out and that stuff is working now, but is there any reason it would've blown the fuse? Both are 15V bulbs, 31MM. I can live without and LED in the dome... I'm just wondering what caused the spike.

Could be a defective bulb.
However, 15V?? You sure it's not 12V??
I installed an LED dome light this morning and it hasnt blown any fuses.
Perhaps reverse the polarity. Although it shouldnt cause the fuse to blow if it were backwards.

It might've been 12V... I was kinda flustered when everything decided to stop working... I'm going to grab some more 15A fuses tonight after work and I'll try again. I'm wondering if it has anything to do with the fact that the incandescent does that gradual fade, whereas the LED isn't capable of that...
The prewired LED light you purchased was cheaply put together. Something got shorted and thats why you blew a fuse. Make sure your premade light is using the correct resistance or the next one will burn up too.
