you bought 2 solobarics and you're looking at those amps? sorry but I would step it up and get a bigger amp for those. you're not going to get nearly all the power outta those subs with those amps.

your gonna need at least a 1200watt amp, i have two 10"kicker l7's 2ohm and using a ed nine.1 works great love the sound, of course im not putting the full rated power but that would be too loud for me but if i were u look at the hifonics brutus series or use the ed nine.1 both great amps

moo amps are normally ok down to 2ohm whereas a 2 channel is normally only good to 4ohm.

by the way the specs on my 10" l5's are

-RMS range = 40-450 watts
-peak power = 900 watts
-2 ohms

find an amp with a peak that has a peak of your combined subs peak and youll be better off.

for instance i have a 15" RE HC that I have a Lanzar HTG2600D to. the sub is 1250 RMS and 2500 Max. I got an amp that is 1000 RMS and 2000 Max. Its not quite up to the subs full power, but it should match well. Try to match RMS and Peak with the subs combined and the amp.

Actually you should be looking for amps that give 12volt RMS ratings. Amp that give you 2500watt peak ratings are normally crap ( Personal opinon).

If you are looking for a good amp for those subs, this is a good one to go with.

Hifonics Brutus

If you have 2 2ohm 10s, then you need an amp that is good at 1 ohm.

Mono amps are generally designed to power multiple subs and to run more efficiently at low impedances. I agree with Banana on the amp choice...the ED 9.1 would work great in this application.

They are virtually identical in specs and have the same features, so either one would work. If you actually buy the Hifonics amp from an authorized dealer, and want a warranty, the amp is like $500.

There are some really good sellers on eBay that sell the Hifonics brand of amp.

Which would be better? 2-channel amp or mono amp for a single sub setup. Im planning on getting Alpine Type-R 10", but i dont know if i should get 2ohm or 4ohm.

You would need a dual voice coil sub to run 2-ohm for the single sub. The advantage to running your amp into a 2-ohm load is increased power. The disadvantage is an increase in distortion and more heat from the amp. Most good amps have no trouble with 2-ohm loads, though. A single channel mono amp would probably work best for you, but you could just as easily bridge a 2-channel.

In order to use the stock headunit, your going to need an inline converter many places sell these however, I would recommend going to an audio shop and getting a nice one because of the quality difference in sound. For instance I used a cheaper inline converter from walmart just because I was in a hurry to install my subs, a friend of mine just to show me the difference took my subs out and put it to his headunit with a nice tsumani inline converter, it sounded much much better. However for the best sound and recommened by most, just get a nice aftermarket headunit for christmas or something; that is what I am doing here in the next few weeks.

^^^ if you're going to ask for a new HU, try to find one that has a dedicated subwoofer pre-out (rca)...this will allow you to crossover your sub at the HU and allow you to adjust the subwoofer level independantly from your regular bass on the rest of the speakers...
