hey i was wondering if someone can help me out with my setup. Some how my amp keeps on heating up and when it heats up to a certain point it shuts off. I tried changing the the ground and power wire to 4 gauge, shorten up the ground wire to less than 6 inchs to 1ft. and it still shuts off. im bumping a pioneer premier sub at 3000 watts... and a amp rockford fosgate at 900 watts... my brother tells me that fosgate is well known for bumping constantly without shutting off..... but here it seems to shut off. my deck is a pioneer.... the p80mp model which can switch to 40watts x 4 or 60watts x 4.... so any help anybody.
the kicker 1200.1 would be perfect for your setup, it 1200 watts rms at 1 ohm stable, wire the subs in parallel to drop it down to 1 ohm and you are all set. Would recomend getting a capacitor, save ya on the blinking lights. I installed the same setup in a 3000GT, with that hatch it pounded
to messiah, is the gain, bass boost, etc. turned all the way up? if so try turning it back a quarter turn. Just b/c the **** can be turned that high, doesn't mean that its supposed to be that high. Most amps if you turn them all the way up they will get hot and cut off.

If I where you I would get the pionner premier DEH-P860MP
or the DEH-P8MP the first one,the 860 is last years "top of the line model" and can still be found new for around 300 bucks which is in my opinion cheap and the headunit is kick ___, its the one im getting for x-mas. The P8mp is this years "top of the line model" it has the exact same specs, I just personally hate the blue and one big **** just too bulky for me so I opted for last years both should be around the same price. But you probably wont be able to find last years model in stores, only online.

sorry guys, im not trying to steal this post but i just bought a four channel amp and a capacitor, they didnt come with an amp kit (wires). thats where im stuck at, idk wat kind of wires im supposed to buy, my amp is 600 watts and i want to power my highs and mids, because i already have an amp powering my subs. if you can find the wires for me on ebay that would really help alot. thank you!
seriously i have no idea, i got everything for my other amp installed from www.tweeter.com it was monster cable so im not really sure
mono blocks are class d ...if you get a 2 channel amp your looking at a class ab amp..."better sound"
get a power amp from rockford...like the T5002 you can bridge it @ 4 ohm,2 ohms or even 1 ohm....killer amp for the price

@fishingexper87...Too many questions...just look at this chart for the proper gauge of your power/ground wires for your amps. Partsexpress.com has really good prices for wiring kits and other stuff. What you need is a multi-amp wiring kit, like this one:
http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showd...number=263-180
@debris...the higher THD in a good class D amp is pretty much inaudible with a low-frequency driver. I wouldn't use one to push mids and highs, but they are better for driving subs.
