Quote from Randode's sight:
Cold Cathode Interior Lighting xA/xB
Mounts under dash and under front seats. Ten times brighter than the dealer installed LED lighting. Includes four 12" cold cathode lights, wiring harness, OEM style switch, mounting ties, and detailed instructions. No drilling or cutting required. Easy two wire hookup. Available in red, white, blue, green, and now HOT LAVA! Don't be fooled by cheap imitations. Randode was the first to design and build a cold cathode lighting kit for automotive use!
$100.00
$100!?!? are you serious? i could do that same setup for no more than $20. Sure it may be an "easy" installation, but i doubt that its worth the extra $80 that you'd be paying... oh and "first to design and build a cathode kit for automotive use"??? i've been installing cathodes in my cars for the last 2-3 years, and i'm absolutly positive that people have been doing long before that.

Well the neons got delivered today from oznium. The install was very simple and the lights work great. If anyone needs any help I would be glad to offer some assistance.

Where does everyone suggest to ground the cathodes to? Also, do i need the add-a-circuit for mini fuses or the normal one? Do i need to buy 2 add-a-circuits or just one if i'm going to wire cathodes for the front and back? Would i still use a 3 amp fuse for both the front and back in one add-a-circuit?

You can ground to some metal under the dash maybe. You could do it ghetto and wrap a long piece of stripped wire around some hole, or maybe drill a hole somewhere and use a self tapping screw to screw down an o-ring with the wire crimped on

You probably need it for mini-fuses

3 amp should be find for front and back

just 1 add a circuit is fine

Any questions during the install gimme a call and if I am around I will try to help!

you get what you pay for. if you are comfortable with building your own kit, thats fine. i'm all about the diy (i wrote the how to on scionlife!). but if you dont know how, or dont want to deal with it, then buy my kit. you are paying for convenience.
you can make a sandwich for a few cents, or you can go to subway and spend $5 on one. its the same thing.

how is it that: best but, circuit city, ultimate electronics, autozone, nappa, home depot, lowes, or the local hardware store - NONE carry the add-a-circuit for mini fuses....so frustrating!

It seems crazy to spend that much on an "add a circuit".

You could get the same results and spend ZERO on it...

Tap into the back of the cig lighter, or tap into the fuse block directly

So what is the problem with putting in a plug for your own product, especially if it is a great one?

Besides, the word you want to use is "HAVE" not "HALF".
Here I will use it in a sentence for you.
I think you Tek, HAVE half a brain.

That does make sense... whether its worth 80 or so dollars is another thing. Also, i'd just like to point out that most people here are car enthusiasts, and along with that, enjoy doing their own work to their cars. Sure installing and wiring cathodes yourself may not be convenient if you aren't completely knowledgeable on the subject, however, it is a great and simple way of learning. I'll admit that i started out by just getting a cig. plug splitter and just hooking them up that way, but through trial and error i've learned how to do proffessional, clean installs. In my opinion, learning how to wire simple things like cathodes will better you further down the road...
