My bass rattles my car.
i know that my system is going to rattle my car, but i was hoping it wouldnt do it this much. i only have 2 tens. and my back window and my gass cap door thing rattles pretty bad. any ideas on fixing it?
dynamatt... while you are at it, do all 4 doors, the hatch, and the whole floor under the spare tire area, back seats, front seats, and firewall.. then it'll sound like a lexus.. i spend about 250 in dynamatt to do the whole thing.. i added a patch inside the gas door, and on back of my liscence plates.. now no rattles at all.. some have also done the headliner as well.

I used a little over 150 sq. ft. and I double-layered quite a bit, including the front doors and the entire spare tire area. It's quiet enough to hear a gnat fart. 250 sq. ft. would almost be overkill unless you REALLY want to attempt to eliminate ALL outside noise.
Polly fill works just as well. Its the stuffing in pillows and comforters. I had a couple of pillows laying around, so i opened them up and stuffed the rear trunk full. Then i went in and attacked the hallow spaces behind the rear tails too. Now when i close the trunk, i get a nice THUD!
Some of you out there who have spent butt loads of money will surely make your remarks .. but i dont have any rattles in the rear. Not even my plate. Only when i push the stereo up to 120+ dB do i get a rattle out of my rear wiper.

ya, but now in order to work on anyhting back there, you have to take the stuffing out. dampening materials allow you to sound deaden the car but at the same time, not make any maintanence hassels.
it's a good idea though! after my sound deadening, i was gone go through on the doors with some studio acoustic cancelation foam.

The amount of work that is done back there is minimal at best. And Poly fill isnt like feathers ... you can pull it out in one massive lump if you wanted to. And the last that installed last weekend in the GF car left no fibers behind either.
If you were wondering, the pillows were from Wally World, firm and extra firm. 5 bucks a piece i believe.
