Default My Indash Dvd Player Doesn't Won't Play DVD's

so i installed a CLARION MAX675VD in my xa this weekend. sound is perfect, install was a breeze, and i put the connection that's supposed to go to the parking brake to a bolt on the body, and now when i put on a dvd i only get the audio, not the video. i know the ground is good because it's the same one i used with a previous indash and it worked fine. so, what's the problem? do i need to hook it up to a switch or something?

btw, it doesn't show the video whether it's parked or moving. i'd really like it to be able to play movies while i'm on the move. if anyone has any tips or ideas, i'm listening.

Is the clarion like the Alpine, where you have to push the brake, set the e-brake, release and re-set? If so you can't just ground it out.

Ok, did a little research. you can either make a toggle switch to fake the brake, or you can buy this bypass:

http://cgi.ebay.com/Clarion-MAX675VD...QQcmdZViewItem

I have one like this for my alpine, and it's nice because you get all the controls all the time, not just when you are in park.

i guess i know what i need now. i'm gonna go ahead and try and hook up a switch and see how that goes. the price offered by that seller seems a little steep. thanks for the help though.

^ that's about what I paid for the one for my alpine, it's just easier and you don't have to mess with it. If a switch will work, go for it.

Post up if it works.
