Default my panasonic head unit...help please

my panasonic head unit is sending a DC signal (there is a little icon on the display that says DC which only turned on when i plugged the RCA cable into the sub pre out) to my sub amp which is sending my amp into protect mode...why is this happeneing? everything seems to be hooked up right...all grounds are connected very well...all RCA cables are good...remote cable is good. i dont know what to do about that. can anyone help me?

look in the manual for the HU and see what it says about it...

what model is it??

Sounds like a short...bad RCA cable?

Id look into the manual and see what it says about the DC. Or like others have said it may be a bad set of RCAs they may look good but could still be bad. Especially if its a cheaper brand of RCAs. Just my .02

its a Panasonic CQ-C9700U. i couldnt find anything in the manuel about a DC signal. its really beginning to bother me. i have tried 3 different RCA cables and 2 different remote cables and its the same problem. anymore ideas?

Starting to sound like your HU.

Any way to input some other signal to your amp to test? A friend's setup? Just to see if it still goes into protection.

so im pretty ____ed...i hooked up the amp to a buddies system and still nothing...so its the amp thats bad. no i gotta contact the ebay store i bought it from and hope they dont try and screw me. im supposed to have a full year warranty on the thing but we'll see if they follow through on that.
