There are few people selling Toyota Navigation Systems on eBay for a lot cheaper than you paid for yours.

How easy is it to hook up to the unit? do I need special wires or adaptors?

Thanks again!
The ones with infrared have a larger diameter and would not fit in the rear wiper hole (believe me, I've tried). I have the exact same one as I had recommended you in the previous post and it is very sensitive to light already at .5 LUX and it works very well at night.

The picture turns black and white at night instead of color during day. The infrared LEDs aren't necessary.

Hooking up the camera is easy, you just need to figure out a way to connect two wires to two pins since the navi unit doesn't have RCA video input. If you can't figure out a way let me know and I'll post pictures of what I used to make the connection. Make sure you purchase the Male Power Lead Plug so you can power the camera.

When I was installing mine the majority of the time was used on wiring the camera from the rear to the front since it was my first time taking off one side of the headliner.

All you need for the installion are:

fairly long RCA extension so you can wire the camera from rear to front, I bought mine at Radio Shack

some sort of wire connectors that can be modified to connect wires to pins, I bought mine at Fry's Electronics, I can make pictures of it if you want

the Male Power Lead Plug that can be purchased from the seller

Post a link to an auction that is selling an unit exactly same as mine (brand new 06' Toyota Camry Navigation headunit with 06 map DVD and antenna) that is significantly cheaper than $1500, I wasn't able to find one.

If you are talking about ones like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/TOYOT...QQcmdZViewItem

it is a totally different unit, it is just the navigation module that goes in the trunk or under seats

The navigation headunit I have doesn't require another seperate navigation module.

LOL, I was gonna post that Calvin What can I say. People.

I got mine from this guy.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/2006-...QQcmdZViewItem

Same setup and he is making me a plug and play harness. he advised it will take 1-2 hours for me to install. Now that I will be getting the camera, it may take a bit longer. Does yours come with a 4 disc changer and ,also bluetooth capability?

How do you even play DVD's on the unit or what do you need to play DVD's.

Yeah, I will need that picture of the camera install. Also, can you check with your boy to see if he has the mic in stock? the dealerships around here is worthless!. lol.

Thanks Calvin!

WHOA very nice, mine doesn't have a 4 disc changer and bluetooth capability is additional. I think it's because your unit is suppose to go into a Sienna while mine is Camry.

www.costaletech.com is selling an additional module that lets you have video in and audio in for $250, but I've read that they're very very slow in shipping out their units since it's a mom and pop operation.

The guy who I purchased the unit from doesn't sell mics but he recommended checking out this guy:

ok, im sorry. i mean when you want to get to a destination(in another state perhaps) and you know the adress of the destination, how does one input the adress in to this navigation system so it can map and navigate a route for you to use?

thank you.

Does your vehicle have the steering wheel audio controls? If so do they work with the NAV HU?

Calvin, I ordered the rear view camera you suggested, along with the power plug. You will have to hook me up with that camera install pic.

I also went to that website you recommended for the video option, it posts 4-8 weeks for delivery... phew.. you wern't kidding!...

I installed this unit too, with help from Calvin. No the xB doesnt have SW (steering wheel) controls, but I'm working on using the SW from a xA (Ebay) and found a wiring harness from PAC that should work! I will let you know how it turns out. I have the mic also and it works great, even at speed! I think this unit is great. I read the other post on the unit with blue tooth, and I would have loved to have that one also. But I was wondering, the guy Troy who sold Calvin and mine sells two models, one digital and one analog. So I think the one with Bluetooth is digital. Troy told me that that if I get the digital one, I would have to change the speakers in the box to digital ones! The unit (#7003) we bought are analog, which the box system is and therefore installed hella easy! Everything was truly Plug and Play!

But I ain't hating, I'm appreciating! I would love to see that unit work in a Box! If it does, maybe I will get one, cause I'm a cell *****! My alternative now is to use a Bluetooth unit from PAC that plugs into the HU that will allow me to go Hands free!

Thanks again Calvin!
