Craigxb,
How are you liking that sub enclosure?

I went shopping today for a custom fiberglass install for a 10" or 12" Sub...I wanted to have it mounted right into the cooler area were yours is at. The guys at my local shop said it could be done, but pricey since fiberglass is time consuming (something like $500 just for a custom fiber box w/ a JL 1 10".
I didn't want to get a big box in this thing, but they also said an upward firing sub in the Xb wouldn't hit that loud...claimed it would be better to have it facing the hatch.
I don't know jack about car audio these days, so just wondering how that enclosure is working out cause that is exactly what I had in mind.

Right now they have me sold on a pair of JL 13" in a setup similar to Paragons

I love it! and my wife doesnt give me grief about taking up too much space. I put it a 10" Kicker dual voice coil sub and it goes low. and it hits hard too. as far as placment of the sub, Low frequency is hardly directional. pretty much anyway in a car will be heard. but of course in a hatchback or trunk you will take advantage of the bowl effect of the car as an enclosure. making it face the back will not make a huge difference IMO than just firing up in the back. take a look at the audioformz prefab boxes, they are 100% fiberglass and you can have them paint it or not.
